He’s married to his high school sweetheart for over 46 years. He’s one of the original Silverbaks. He tries to find fun or something that creates fun in as many places as possible. He believes community is valuable, bringing people together to play, talk, and make a difference is important. And, he’s been on the podium at the Dakota 5-0!!!
Abbie schoenberner
Youth CoordinatorAbbie was born and raised right here in the Black Hills. After attending school in Bozeman, Montana, and competing in triathlons, she eventually found her way back home. Growing up, I was immersed in the local cycling community, participating in the Stevens Cycling Club and the youth race series. Those experiences helped shape Abbie’s passion for cycling and provided opportunities that had a lasting impact on her life. My goal is to create those same opportunities for the next generation of cyclists, helping young riders develop skills, confidence, and a lifelong love for the sport.
Wes Hanson
TreasurerWes aka Mr. Wesk aka the Bean Counter is the Black Hills Bike Hub treasurer. He is originally from Brandon, SD and moved to Rapid City in late 2019 after finishing college and earning his CPA to pursue a career in accounting. He was drawn to the Black Hills for his love of recreational activities and riding motorcycles. Not long after moving, he purchased his first mountain bike and has been hooked ever since. He is passionate about being involved in the community through the Bike Hub and helping with trail maintenance.
Brittany Neiles
SecretaryIn first grade, Brittany wrote in her “About Me” assignment that her favorite toy was her bike. Not much has changed. Originally from Sioux Falls, she moved out here in 2013 with two old bikes and the hope to explore all the Hills had to offer. Now with a bit better gear, Brittany enjoys mountain biking, gravel riding, and bike commuting. An unfortunate stop by a cop (while she was on a bike), pushed her to help organize a bike group, and from that the Bike Hub was born. When not biking, you’ll find Brittany doing yoga at Loam Yoga, running on the trails, or admiring historic buildings on her travels.
Evan Walterman
Director of Trails
Originally from Minnesota, Evan moved to the Black Hills after graduating from SDSU in 2015. After a few years chasing trout around the Hills on the fly, Evan was introduced to mountain biking and the rest is history! Evan enjoys all forms of riding on two wheels, but is a mountain biker and bikepacker at heart. Now a father of two, Evan has made Black Hills Bike Hub a priority as he wants to ensure his boys and future generations have the same chance to enjoy the outdoors and ride the incredible trails in the Rapid City Area.
Molly O’Connor Dailey
Director of Membership and FundraisingMolly is a Rapid City native and an elementary music educator with a previous life in development & event planning. Over the years, her relationship with cycling has changed as she started out trying to keep up with her husband by stoking on the tandem for all the ups, downs, and jumps in between. Today, she cruises on an e-bike wherever the flowers may grow, and there are friends to share the fun.
